1 FORWARD An academic institution is defined by the integrity and fairness with which it evaluates its students as much as by the knowledge it imparts. A credible assessment system builds trust among learners, reassures parents, and ensures that the degrees awarded by the University reflect genuine competence and understanding. For many years, higher education across the country relied almost exclusively on high-stakes, terminal examinations. This approach is easy to administer, but it often rewards last-minute memorisation rather than deep conceptual understanding.
